Definitions of Type
Standard
Percussion treatments that are standard in most popular music. This often includes a couple of drums (congas, bongos, djembe, timbales, etc.) and a few rhythmic hand percussion parts (shakers, triangle, tambourine, cowbell, cabasa, etc.) and "transitional" or percussion "effects" (suspended cymbal rolls, wind chimes, mark tree, seed pod rattles and other sounds).
Exotic
Percussion treatments that include Standard and Exotic instruments. Exotic instruments are those that are either hard to find or that are unusual, such as udu drum, talking drum, certain whistles and sound effects, exotic shakers, bells, and chimes and an array of gongs, tam tams, and uncommon drums.
Composed
Percussion tracks that include a large amount of material that was written by the percussionist. These include percussion arrangements where several instruments are played as a small ensemble with your music to produce a more dramatic effect. Examples of this include: a Brazilian, Latin, or West African drumming section that is made up of large and small drums, as well as various shakers, bells, and rattles. Composed tracks also include any performance that is based on specific music notation(charts). Custom
Custom tracks are any tracks that are conceived of, produced, and recorded by Kalani and other members of World Percussion Tracks. com. These fall under the Custom Music section of this web site and are meant for anyone who does not have a prepared tune upon which to build, but who would like to purchase percussion music for any reason. Custom tracks are 100% owned by the client.
Tailored
These tracks are similar to Custom tracks in that they are composed and produced by Kalani and his associates. In addition they feature a wider array of instruments, including non-percussion instruments (Winds, Strings, Vocals etc.) and therefore require more composition, arranging, production and recording time.
